Dan's favorite cake is white with milk chocolate frosting...he get's so excited when he smells it he can hardly wait. So I just barely got the frosting on it and the knife comes out. Mind you the cake is still a little warm and I knew if he saw it sitting there frosted that the cake was at risk. So if you look at this picture closely you will notice half of the cake is gone and you are seeing the back of the cake. Hence the huge smile on Dan's face for tearing into the cake before we could sing Happy Birthday to him!We had a great day starting with bacon, eggs, fruit, toast, and juice. Off to Houston's for lunch and ended up at In n' Out for dinner. However cake came between before dinner. Yes, Dan's main Birthday gift is enjoying FOOD! For any of you that know Dan, you know that you can't really buy him anything for his Birthday because he will just take it back. So we got him one present with his favorite T-shirt's from Tommy Bahama's. He was okay with this, and I knew he wouldn't take these back. Life with Dan has never been boring. He always finds something to laugh about, be positive, have humor, and most of all find something that the Lord is trying to teach him. We love you Dan! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Brenan received his Star Rank in scouting tonight. He also picked up an additional 8 merit badges totally 17 to date. Way to go Brenan learning your man vs wild skills...Another Bear Grylls in the making!
Today I welcomed my friend, Janet Zaretski from the past. She is one of my long lost neighbors from Westpark when we lived on Monte Carlo. We had a heart warming visit. We haven't seen each other in over 12 years. She was in town for the weekend at a conference. It's amazing to me how you can pick up were you left off and try to close the gap of 12 years in an hour 1/2 . Time went too fast! She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband Lee and daughter Erika. It was great to see her. Hopefully it won't be another 12 before we visit again. Facebook and email come in handy! Take care Friend...
It was a super long day! But catching those memories was worth it...
